Why You Should Shop at Fernandina's Farmers Market This WeekDowntown Fernandina Beach hosts a fabulous farmers market on Saturday mornings… ours! Open every week, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, we have searched our region to bring YOU a variety of vendors who produce food and other natural products.

Located in the fresh air, under the Spanish moss draped oak and cedar trees lining North Seventh Street, these farmers, bakers, and candlestick makers are thrilled to bring you a more natural way to put food on your family’s table.

Buying nutritious and delicious, locally grown foods from our farmers market is the best way to learn what fruits and vegetables are in season, and these farmers are happy to share their favorite recipes, too. When you make a purchase from a local farmer, you are supporting small business owners and helping to save farm land in our community. We encourage you to talk to the farmers. Just because you don’t see an “organic” certification, this doesn’t mean they don’t grow their produce without spraying chemicals or pesticides. Holding an organic certification is a very expensive process and many farmers opt not to spend the money.

Have you never tried a mulberry, or a patty pan squash? Shopping the farmers market can be entertaining when you are on a mission to try something new.

White Hawk, Olive My Pickle, Lizzie’s Cheese Straws, and Something Good are just some of the bi-weekly vendors you will find at the Market Place on August 15th, in addition to our weekly vendors like Boatright, Kings, Bacon’s Select, and Cabbage Creek Farms.

Live music will be performed by the amazing Jim Barcaro and our Booth with a Cause is Community Hospice.

We hope to see you Saturday!
