On Saturday, May 9, 2015, we will see the return of the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market! The Market Place was closed this past Saturday to make room for the Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival.
Not only are we celebrating the return of the fabulous vendors, we are celebrating Mother’s Day, which in May 10th.
Tressa’s Treasures will be returning with her delicious chocolate candies and spiced nuts. Boatright farms is harvesting early crops of yellow squash, green beans and yard eggs, and Joy of Garlic is offering a Super Salsa Sale for spring: $9.00 each or two for $17.00.
White Hawk Farms will be bringing goat soaps, eggs and more of their specialty items, and Liz and her popular Lizzie’s Cheese Straws will be back, too. Jack and Diane’s is bringing plenty of vegan and gluten free soups and salsa, while Something Good returns with gluten-free breads, desserts and other sweets.
Bring the kids to Olive My Pickle and join their free pickle club. Other vendors will be offering local shrimp, organic nuts, quinoa, fresh baked breads, seasonal produce, Angus beef, honey, goat cheese, dog treats, plants, meat pies, and more!
Members of the Fernandina Pirates Club will be on hand hosting a Blood Drive, and Jim Barcaro will be offering some fantastic live entertainment.
The farmers market is open every Saturday (almost) from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., rain or shine. Located on North Seventh Street in historic Fernandina Beach, well behaved husbands and leashed pets are welcome to attend, too.
