Our mild winters permit a nice variety of seasonal produce to grown in NE Florida and you’ll find an abundance of bell peppers, tomatoes, broccoli, squash, cauliflower, Romanesco, eggplant, radish, and cabbage at the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market on Saturday, January 12, 2019. Another winter favorite are fresh grown strawberries and they are now available at the King’s Kountry Produce booth, direct from their farm in Starke, Florida.
With more time spent indoors, our producers are hard at work creating their specialties, too. This week Rose’s Unbelievable Egg Rolls returns, Laura Lannen with her delicate Bite Sized Confections will be back at the Market Place, and Oizeo returns with their Asian tapas.
Since this is the second Saturday of the month, the Fernandina Beach Arts Market will also be open. Located adjacent to the farmers market, these are local artists and crafters that make and create their own products. There will be no re-selling and no imported goods found here. What you will find is original art, fabric and apparel, woodworking, jewelry, crafts, and more.
Our Booth with a Cause will be Ocean Rescue. They are looking for lifeguard candidates and encourage you to stop by their booth to learn more about this exciting summer opportunity. If you are a local non-profit organization, please stop by the management booth to learn more about how your group can participate in the market with a free booth space.
The farmers market is located between Alachua and Centre Streets, on North Seventh Street. Both markets are open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., rain or shine. Learn more by finding either market on facebook.
