The Herbs are Coming, The Herbs are Coming!

The Fernandina Beach Market Place is thrilled to introduce our newest exhibitor, Gilbreath Family Farms, to our exceptional line-up of grower and producer vendors at what some call, “Florida’s friendliest farmers market”. This new booth will be bringing top quality, culinary herbs. These mature, living herbs thrive indoors or out. Varieties include three types of basil: Genovese, lime, and sweet. Other herbs include sage, summer thyme, dill, Greek oregano, and giant of Italy parsely. Please welcome them to the Market Place, and be sure to ask them for recipe ideas and growing tips.

This Saturday we will host over 30 booths full of a wide variety of specialty products and locally grown, seasonal vegetables. Country Pies, Amelia Island Tropicals, and Rose’s An Unbelieveable Egg Roll will be back with their specialties this week, as well as Lemon Sensations who sell 32 ounce cups of naturally flavored regular, blueberry, and strawberry lemonades.

A special treat this week will be the filming of the farmers’ market for HGTV’s Island Life series.

Each week the Market Place showcases a local musician, working solely for tips, and music this week is provided by Spanish Guitarist Dennis Fermin, from St. Augustine, Florida. Our Booth with a Cause will be the Voluntary Pre-kindergarten Program (VPK) of St. Michael’s Academy on Amelia Island.

If you are a interested in having a booth, are a musician, or have a local non-profit that would like to participate in your community’s farmers market, please let us know via email, or better yet, stop by the management booth any Saturday of the year.
