The Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market has plenty of landscaping, patio, hanging baskets and potted plants to satisfy any spring fever cravings you may be having to get outside a do a little yard work.
Long time vendor, Seven Trees, attend the market weekly and bring seasonal varieties to the farmers market. Currently, they have ornamental cabbage, bleeding hearts just in time for Valentine’s Day, and healthy blooming baskets that help set the mood for outdoor living.
While it is usually best to wait until mid-March to believe our danger of frost has passed, Everblooming Gardens have white gardenias, bougainvillea, climbing roses, and azaleas, that are perfect for planting in your spring garden.
We have two new vendors attending February 11, 2017, that we’d like to tell you about: The Muffin Lady and Lady Bug Gourmet.
Mrs. Cook, the Muffin Lady, will be attending on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month. She specializes in her family recipe for muffins. Available in blueberry or apple cinnamon, these tasty muffins bring back warm family memories.
Lady Bug Gourmet has caramel sauces, jellies, jams, and pepper jellies. Home blended into a perfect balance, her flavors are amazing. Michelle will be attending every Saturday, so be sure to stop by and try a sample. My favorite, so far, is the spicy orange caramel; it is awesome on fresh strawberries. Sweet and spicy, it is a perfect compliment to your Valentine’s Day plans.
This is also the 2nd Saturday of the month, so the Fernandina Beach Arts Market will be set up adjacent to the farmers market. With nearly 20 arts and craft vendors, these exhibitors are hand selected for their talent and abilities. You won’t find any retail or re-selling of merchandise; there works are handmade, handcrafted works of art. You’ll find glass works, fabric arts, apparel, pottery, fine jewelry, hand bags, whimsical jewelry, tie dye and more.
Both markets are open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., rain or shine.
