tomato-bisque-soupThe Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market is located on N. 7th Street in downtown, historic Fernandina. Open from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM every Saturday, rain or shine, this family and pet friendly provides you with over 30 booth each week and every exhibitor is unique!

This week we’d like to tell you a little more about three of our weekly vendors who brave the sun, the rain, the cold or the heat, to spend their Saturday mornings with you.

Dips 2 Go is also known as River City Gourmet and they have a store in the Jacksonville Landings. Owners Mitch and Sherry make unique dips, rubs and spice mixes. Their dips are all natural, with little or no salt, and no sugar. Each flavor is unique and they offer nine varieties of natural rubs. They also bring infused olive oils, 12 year aged Balsamic vinegar and sea salts.

Tressa owns A Natural Wave Soap, and she used to be a professional chef, so she enjoys creating new blends and formulas with natural ingredients and fragrances in her line of soaps, lotions and body scrubs. Her products contain no artificial preservatives, colors or fragrances. One of her signature pieces is a felt covered soap and it makes a wonderful gift for the person who has everything.

Olive Affairs brings a unique blend of olives, herbs and oil in their tapenades, offering one with anchovies and the other, a vegetarian dip. The culinary expertise in the blending and proportions of ingredients result in a full bodied garlic burst with no lingering aftertaste. Their Three in One Homemade Tomato Bisque Soup is really three completely different dishes. One – reduced it becomes a delicious marinara; two – as a hearty bowl of soup, and three – it is a fabulous base for the popular warm weather soup, Gazpacho.

We invite you to visit our friendly farmers market and meet these three, and our many other, vendors of the Market Place. Joining us on February 15th is a special musical guest all the way from Toledo, Ohio, the talented Jeff Tucker. The Women’s Center of Jacksonville, who serves Fernandina Beach and Nassau County, will be on hand to answer your questions, and we are always looking for a local Fernandina Beach business to fill our featured “Brick and Mortar” space, at no charge.
