March 23, 2013 will be the final visit to our local farmers’ market, for this season, by Dougs’ Wild Alaska Salmon. Come meet Doug, and his family, on N. 7th Street, in historic, downtown Fernandina Beach, so you can stock up!
Food for thought: Wild salmon is a wonderful protein source and it is loaded with omega 3 fatty acids, good for boosting brain function. Few foods offer as many health benefits. Salmon truly is “food for thought.”
Someone else I will be visiting this week to replenish my stock will be An Un-believable Egg Roll. Rose is returning with her delicious, authentic, Vietnamese egg rolls. If you like a bit of heat, try her spicy sauce, you won’t regret it! And speaking of heat, Kelley’s Courtyard Cafe‘ has an amazing dark chocolate chip cookie, with cherries, bourbon and Ancho chilies. Another favorite market item found in my home is the jalapeno bread that Rudy brings each week from Maria’s Bakery, and the Spicy Cajun Jerky from Wook’s.
Music will be provided by Larry LeMier and the Nassau Humane Society is our featured not-for-profit booth. Stroll across Centre Street and enjoy the final weekend for Expressionists Artist Paul Massing’s display, Dynamic Beauty, at the Seventh Street Gallery, also open from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
We hope to see you Saturday, where your well behaved, leashed pets, and children, are always welcomed!
