The Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market and the local Arts Market will be open on Saturday, December 12, 2015, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Returning this week are local favorites Rose’s An Unbelieveable Egg Rolls, Hope Floats goat soaps, Sonya’s Blue Planet organic treats, and Bacon’s Select Lettuce. Local restauranteurs include Lulu’s at the Thompson House who bring their spicy or regular pimento cheese dips and their famous crab cakes that you can cook at home. Nana Teresa’s Bake Shop is now a regular at the farmers market and you really should try their specialty desserts and artisan breads. (My new favorite is their pretzel bread.)
Other new vendors returning this week include Cohen Pecan Farm, Golden Olive Press and Mike’s Planter Boxes.
Making their first farmers market appearance this week is Simple Scented Soy Candles and Bodhi Tree Naturals. Products include handmade and all natural bath and body products including Face creams, Herbal Infused Lotions, Homemade Deodorants, Sunscreen, Skincare Gift Sets, Lip Balms, Face Cleansers, Soaps, Oil Serums, Hand Sanitizers, Mouth Wash and more.
The Arts Market is at full capacity this week with booths specializing in artistic surf boards, hand crafted jewelery, knitted scarves, tie dyed T-shirts, wall hangings, wooden bowls, pottery, children’s apparel, wood working, and tons of Christmas inspired designs.
Please join us this Saturday, an expected 70 degree December day, where you can shop directly from the owners and producers of fine arts, crafts and fabulous foods under the majestic cedars and Spanish moss draped oak trees that line North Seventh Street in historic Fernandina, home to the farmers market every Saturday morning of the year.
Crafty Kids is setting up a special display for photos with Santa in the farmers’ market, so bring the whole family! Music this week is provided by the talented Larry Lemier, and your well-behaved leashed pets are always welcome.
