Fall is in the air and that means it is “Pumpkin Season” at the farmers market. October brings many fun events to historic Fernandina Beach such as Sounds on Centre, the Amelia Cruizers Car Show, Trick or Treating, and the Georgia-Florida Weekend festivities. One thing you can look forward to, no matter the weekend, is October always promises some delightfully pumpkin dishes at the Fernandina Beach Market Place.
A staple found in Dee’s Something Good booth is her homemade, gluten-free pumpkin breads, available plain or with chocolate chips. Bottega’s Catering by Liz is preparing curry pumpkin chicken and pumpkin ravioli for “Pumpkin Season” at the farmers market.
Bark n Bake offers healthy, preservative free, all natural treats for dogs. They make pumpkin latte dog treats because pumpkin is low in calories, loaded with Vitamin A and a good source of iron and Vitamins C, K and E. High in fiber, it acts as a natural digestive aid.

Me, Myself, and Pies are bringing back the Holiday Pop-Up Pie Shop. Pre-order your Thanksgiving pies before November 11th and your nine-inch sweet or savory pies will be delivered fresh on November 21st and 22nd, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Pumpkin Patch turned Christmas Tree lot on S. 14th Street.
