New Holiday Delights and Traditional Favorites

North Seventh Street in historic Fernandina Beach is transformed into an outdoor market every Saturday in December. Not only will you find nearly 40 booths of seasonal produce, fresh baked breads, jams and jellies, free-range beef, wild caught shrimp and salmon, beautiful succulents, honey, sauces, olives, oils, and other delicious treats, but the Arts Market located adjacent to the farmers market has nearly 25 booths full of local art. Paintings, prints, apparel, jewelry, furniture, signs, pottery and more will be on display and for sale from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Making an extra appearance in the Market Place farmers’ market is Steephill’s Vermont Syrup. December 5th and 19th they’d like you to stop by their booth and sample their Grade A Dark Robust Vermont Maple Syrup which can be used instead of brown sugar as a healthy glaze on yams, sweet potatoes or acorn squash. Mixed with black pepper it makes a delicious topping for wild salmon. They also have their own Vermont maple sugar which is delicious atop a serving of frozen yogurt or vanilla ice cream. You can also add it to hot oatmeal or granola. Special candy orders can be placed by coming to the Market on December 5th and will be filled before December 19th. They will have a fresh batch of Vermont Maple cream, too. Customers say it makes a bran muffin eatable!

Something Good is fully stocked in their seasonal and gluten-free favorites. This holiday enjoy their pumpkin, orange, cranberry, and carrot breads. They will be introducing a gluten-free gingerbread in December.

A Natural Springs Farm has extra jumbo, farm fresh eggs that are only $5.00 for ten eggs, or a 20 count carton for $9.00. Open rain or shine, each week you will find something new and amazing at the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market.
