With 40 tents full of fine edibles and tasty treats, shopping in the farmers market will make your back to school meal planning healthy and easy. Healthy snack options are available from our fresh produce vendors. Tempt your family with slices of cucumber, squash, and zuchinni; easy to add to a lunch box or have on hand for afterschool. Watermelon, peaches and seasonal berries are also available. Great Harvest Bread Company and Ferra’s Bakery offer a variety of ready-to-eat calzones, pepperoni rolls, muffins, and other pastries. This week you will find Me, Myself and Pies with their delicious quiche and savory meat pies in addition to their sweet traditional and fruit pies. We have a new vendor this week, Amanda’s Baked Confections. She will be introducing here home baked cakes in several flavors, and Laura Lannen brings mini-treats such as wedding cookies, brownie bites, and more.
Jenn Burns Staples will be providing outstanding entertainment, and the Citizens for the Restoration of the Fernandina Beach Harbor Marina will be set up on the lawn of the Pineland Bank to advocate for the restoration of a working, public marina. This is a call to the city’s manager and commissioners to make sure the marina’s contruction schedule is publicly published and updated.
The Market Place is located between Centre and Alachua Streets. This has become the place to be on a Saturday morning for fresh market shopping, fellowship, and family entertainment. Hop on your bikes, walk on over, or load up the mini-van with your friends and neighbors and join us at the Fernandina Beach Market Place, also fondly refered to as Florida’s friendliest farmer market.
