Memorial Day at the Farmers Market

Share

Memorial Day Weekend on Amelia Island is the unofficial start of summer, and there are many things to do on this long weekend that usually involves visits to the beach by your family and friends. One wonderful option is to bring your guests to the farmers market on North Seventh Street in the historic district of Fernandina Beach. Open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. every Saturday, rain or shine, May 27th also happens to be an Arts Market weekend. Come to peruse over 40 grower, producer and food booths found in the farmers market and nearly 30 additional vendors that will be set up right next door in the Arts Market with fine arts, crafts, jewelry, handbags, apparel, pottery, woodworking, and more.

In the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market you will find Lizzie’s Cheese Straws. Just in time for Memorial Day cook-outs, she now brings a larger, party-sized package of her delicious cheesy crackers. Steephill Design will be bringing syrup from their Vermont farm for the last time this season, so stock up now as they won’t return until fall. This is the 4th Saturday of the month and Bottega by Liz, a specialty catering company, will now be appearing in the farmers market on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month, and so will the Muffin Lady, and Me, Myself and Pies.

The Fernandina Beach Arts Market invites you to come meet some of their talented artists like Laura who designs unique, vintage-like handbags; and Ben who creates amazing wood furniture and paintings.

Music this week will be provided by Alain Le Lait.

Both markets are located between Centre Street and Alachua Streets on Amelia Island.
