vegetables-march-2015Not only will the Concours’ d’Elegance, Festivals of Speed, and the new Bonhams Auction be open on Amelia Island, but the The Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers’ market and the Fernandina Beach Arts Market will also be open in historic, downtown Fernandina this weekend!

The farmers’ market, located on North Seventh Street, features March’s seasonal produce from our farmers as spring rapidly approaches.

You will find early harvests of yellow crookneck and summer squash coming in at Boatright Farms, as well as zucchini and early Vidalia onions.

Amelia Pasta now offers gluten free in their sweet potato pasta, and lemon garlic orzo.

Island Juice and Java serves up hot coffee, and chai tea, as well as hot chocolate with your choice of marshmallows, chocolate chips, mint chips or whipped cream. They also serve mango-pineapple and strawberry-banana smoothies, lemonade, and more.

For the next two weeks, the farmers’ market is assisting Relay For Life with their Canned Food Drive. You are encouraged to drop off cans at the farmers’ market that will be used to hold down the Luminaria bags during their seaside ceremony on March 21st. After the ceremony, the food will be donated to Micah’s Place, Nassau County’s domestic violence shelter.

The Arts Market, located adjacent to the farmers’ market will offer over 20 local artists and craftsman booths. You will find original art, apparel, stoneware, ceramics, jewelry, fused glass, pet supplies, essential oils and more.

Both markets are open from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, rain or shine, and music this week will be provided by the Hambone Stumps Band.
