The Fernandina Beach Market Place and the Fernandina Beach Arts Markets will both be open this Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and with a temperature cool down expected, what better way than to take a stroll with your loved ones, outside on a chilly day, to get into the holiday spirit? On December 9th, Downtown Fernandina Beach is also presenting the Dickens on Centre Festival where you can travel back in time and enjoy the Victorian era inspired by Charles Dickens’, “A Christmas Carol” with chestnuts roasting, costumed characters, and themed entertainment.
At the farmers market on North Seventh Street, we are open rain or shine, and you will find nearly 50 booths full of delicious food and natural products that are great for gifts, or to keep for yourself. JD Beef is now in a new location, just a few spaces north, where you can stop by and meet the Durrance family, the “D” in JD Beef. They bring grass fed and grass finished cuts of beef. With no antiobiotics or hormones, you can truly taste the difference.
Rose’s An Unbelievable Egg Roll is back this week with authentic, Vietnamese egg rolls; Me, Myself and Pies return Saturday with sweet and savory pies and quiche; Bunna Cafe returns with their Ethiopian coffee, and Cohen Pecans will be bringing fresh pecans just in time for your holiday baking needs.
Located adjacent to the farmers market is the Fernandina Beach Arts Market. There will be an additional 30 booths of arts and crafts such as woodworking, soaps, fine or whimsical jewelry, pottery, quilts and apparel.
Live entertainment at this week’s farmers market is brought to us by the talented Jennifer Burns, who is featured in the upcoming, “How the Big Band Stole Christmas, hosted by local big band musicians, Crescendo Amelia. This family friendly holiday show is a full theatre production and includes your favorite holiday songs.
Our featuted Brick and Mortar business is the Holistic Wellness Center: A full-service, multi-disciplinary alternative healthcare facility located at 1610 South 8th Street offering Chiropractic, Massage, Reflexology, Detox Foot Baths, AquaGym (water exercise classes in an indoor, heated saltwater pool), personal and group fitness training, a full line of effective nutritional supplements, natural products, essential oils, laboratory blood and/or saliva testing, nutritional and detox consultations, and more.
