Florida Rose Expert Comes to Farmers MarketIf you have any interest in growing roses in Florida, the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers’ market has a special treat for you on April 13, 2013!

Pam Greenewald, a professed Rosaholic from Angel Gardens in Alachua, Florida, will be giving a short seminar at 11:00 AM, telling us why roses are easy to grow without chemicals, and which roses are the best for Florida.

Angel Gardens is a rose nursery specializing in own-root, organically grown Heritage and easy-care, hard-to-find roses. The Nursery features roses from many collections including roses from David Austin, Buck, Harkness, Delbard, Weeks and more. Specializing in roses for Southern gardens, most classes are represented including Teas, Chinas, Noisettes, Hybrid Musks, Bourbons, Polyanthas, climbers and minis and rare modern Floribundas and Hybrid Teas all on their own roots.

A lucky winner will take home one of these extraordinary roses! For your comfort, you are welcome to bring a chair.

Along with our weekly vendors, Steephill Syrup, Lizzie’s Cheese Straws and Un-Believable Egg Roll are all back this week, and we will be joined by Amelia Island Montessori School and talented musicians Joey and Jeanie.
