Late spring offers some delicious produce and Boatright Farms will be bringing the first crops of Vidalia onions. Early corn on the cob, vine ripened tomatoes, yellow squash and zucchinis are all ready for harvest.

Me, Myself and Pies is baking seafood quiche just in time to treat your Shrimp Festival guests, Rose’s An Unbelievable Egg Roll will be offering a Southwestern variety egg roll for a limited time only, and our local shrimp vendor is returning. To place your order for fresh shrimp ahead of time, please call Eddie or Debbie Chesser at (904) 509-3337 or (904) 485-6853.

Seven Trees Nursery is doubling their booth space through the end of May, so look for more house plants, vegetables, and succulents.

Restaurant Row within the farmers market has expanded. In addition to Great Harvest Bread Company, Lulu’s at the Thompson House, and Jack and Diane’s, Gilbert’s Underground Kitchen has joined the market with rubs, spices, hot and bar-b-q sauces, and a handful of their restaurant specialties.

In honor of World Malaria Day, Memorial United Methodist Church will host a booth at the Fernandina Beach Market Place. They are committed to the goal of the “Imagine No Malaria” initiative which hopes to achieve victory over this deadly disease through prevention, education, communication and treatment. Be sure to stop by and learn what you can do to help them stop this disease.

Live music will be provided by Larry Lemeir.

The Fernandina Beach Arts Market will also be open on April 25th with a handful of new vendors in addition to your favorite wood workers, jewelry designers, artists, potters and more.

The farmers market is open on North Seventh Street, between Alachua and Centre Streets in historic Fernandina Beach, from 9:00 to 1:00 pm on almost every Saturday of the year.

Both the Market Place and the Arts Market will return on May 9, 2015, after the Shrimp Festival. For more information about the Arts Market please visit
