Feeling a Part of Community at our Market

Share

Alex makes breadsA long time ago, before the chain grocery store and big box mass merchandisers were invented, citizens and friends gathered in the town’s center to buy and barter with farmers and craftsman for fresh produce, cheeses, meats and breads. Every Saturday morning in historic, downtown Fernandina Beach there is a farmers market set up on N. 7th Street, under a canopy of oak trees and Spanish moss providing a perfect location for locals and visitors to select from the freshest produce, delicious pastries, flavorful cheeses and hardy succulents, but most of all the Fernandina Beach Market Place provides a social opportunity for members of the community to come together each week and share a little of ourselves with our neighbors.

You are warmly invited to join us, and over 30 vendors, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, every Saturday, rain or shine, to savor the samples, smell the flowers, and enjoy the friendly atmosphere.

November 9th we will be celebrating with Operation Christmas Child and the Seventh Street Art Gallery while being entertained by the talented Sam MacDonald.
