The last Saturday in January 2016 brings some of your favorite vendors back to the farmers market in historic, downtown Fernandina Beach.
Look for authentic Vietnamese egg rolls, and a wide variety of gluten-free breads and pastries from Something Good. Olive My Pickle is back this week with barrels and barrels of delicious “you-pick-em” pickles and olives.
One fairly new vendor to the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market is Mrs. Crow’s. This Veteran owned, family business produces all natural, chemical-free salves. Named after a Great Granny, and strong frontier woman with a deep belief in the healing power of Crow Indian natural healing remedies, their “No 29” is based on the original formula from 1929. Good for dry hands, burns, bug bites and more, their newest products include a Pet Balm, Warrior Salve and Mrs. Crow’s Beard Oil.
Rudy is back with Maria’s Bakery’s fresh baked breads as well as their fan favorite sweets like cinnamon rolls, cookies, baklava, turnovers and canolis.
Another new vendor that you must visit is Simply Savory. Ned sets up his booth every Saturday and offers delicious samples of creamy, spicy, and sweet dip mixes. Sample them all or take my word for it, “Tavern Cheese, Horseradish Heaven, Southwest Jalapeno Chipotle or Spicy Garlic are exceptional when used in a meatloaf made with the fresh ground beef found at the J.D. Beef tent.”
Saturday’s weather is shaping up to be a delightful day to bring the entire family, including your well-behaved leashed pets, to the farmers market. We are located on North Seventh Street, between Centre and Alachua Streets, on Amelia Island.
Open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., we hope you will join us, rain or shine, under the Spanish moss draped oak and cedar trees of historic Fernandina.
