The Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market will be open rain or shine from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2016.

Nearly 40 booths will display seasonal produce and handmade specialties to help you get through another busy week. Planning your meals and snacks ahead of time will help you prepare for the week’s upcoming events such as setting our clocks back one hour on November 6th, staying up late Tuesday evening to watch the election results, or perhaps you plan to head to downtown Fernandina Beach at 11:00 a.m. for the Veterans’ Day Parade being held on Friday, November 11th.

Whether you have a busy week planned or not, our vendors stay busy getting ready for you on Saturdays. Bacon’s Select Produce is a weekly vendor who grows hydroponic lettuce. What suprises many customers of the farmers market is that they also grow seedless cucumbers in their North Jacksonville greenhouses, and you have to wake up pretty early to get to the farmers market before they sell out of their harvested kale. Nathalie, with My Fortune Rocks, will only be attending one market in November, but she is stocked up for the holidays with painted words of wisdom, in both English and Chinese, on hand selected rocks. Located on North Seventh Street, between Alachua and Centre Streets, members of the local American Legion Chapter will be helping the Oneblood donation bus that will be on-site accepting donations, and our “Booth with a Cause” this week is the Nassau Humane Society; they will be bringing some adorable, adoptable pets for you to meet.
