Located on North Seventh Street is historic downtown Fernandina Beach, The Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers’ market will be open on April 18th, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, rain or shine. The Market Place provides your family with a convenient and fun way to shop for healthy foods directly from the farmers and producers that make them.
The Market also offers the delicious offerings of local restaurants including specialties like the ones created by Chef Brian Grimley of Lulu’s at the Thompson House. Chef Grimley is also a participant in the F.O.R.K. Dinner (Fernandina Outdoor Restaurant Kitchen) on April 26th, this Barnabas fundraiser sold out in just 3 hours and 42 minutes! Swing by Lulu’s booth and meet his lovely wife Melanie. While you are there you may want to consider tasting their spicy or plain pimento cheese spread. They also sell fabulous crab cakes at the farmers market!
This is the final visit of the season for Steephill Vermont Syrup. They are using a new maple syrup grading system and their syrups are now all Grade A… Grade A Amber Rich Taste, Grade A Amber Dark Robust Taste and Grade A Very Dark Amber with Strong Taste (formerly Grade B)!
Shepperds Farm, from Callahan, Florida, will be introducing a new thumbprint cookie with their hot pepper jellies pressed into the center. These little sugar cookies are an interesting mix of sweet and hot.
Harlow’s All Natural Products return this week with their popular soaps, natural deodorants and other natural bath and beauty products. Be sure to stop by Cross Creek Honey, they have a fresh supply of honey soaps including Lemon Honey, Bay Rum and the popular “Hippie Soap”, Patchouli.
The farmers market offers nearly 40 vendors each Saturday, and your well behaved, leashed pets are welcome. The only Saturday of the year we are not open is the Saturday during the Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival. This year the farmers market will be closed on May 2, 2015.
