There are plenty of reasons to come out and enjoy the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market on April 15, 2017. Perhaps you have company in town for Easter, or you just want to celebrate the end of tax season, fellowship, flora, and fabulous foods are abundant on North Seventh Street on Saturday mornings.
We have a new vendor, Succulent Design of Vilano, making their inaugural appearance at the farmers market this Saturday. Lydia has spent many years experimenting with container gardens and she now creates succulent dish gardens in recycled and antique containers. Another new vendor has joined the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market, Great Harvest Bread Company from Jacksonville, Florida. Great Harvest bakes everything from scratch using pure, simple ingredients and they still fresh mill their 100% whole grain flour every day. This week will be bringing Savannah bars, breads, Easter bunny shaped breads, cinnamon pull-aparts, and more. We hope you will stop by their booths and welcome them both to the neighborhood.
While some toe-tapping music by the Laid Back Band will set the mood for a stroll through the farmers market this week, we have special entertainment lined up for you with a demonstration by Boogie Babies. If you have a baby, a toddler or are pregnant, Boogie Babies may be the class for you. Wear your baby in your favorite carrier and get your groove on at the farmers market this week, at 10:00 a.m., during this free, demo class. This is an easy and fun way to focus on the little ones and have a good time. If you are new to baby-wearing, or need a little help getting your carrier situated, please come a little early. No dance experience is necessary!
In addition to your favorite weekly vendors who bring seasonal produce, farm fresh beef and dairy, baked pastries, natural lotions and soaps, seafood and shrimp, hanging baskets and landscape plants, local honey, and a variety of amazing, ready to eat dishes, returning this week are Rose’s Authentic Vietnamese Egg Rolls, Jay’s Market Place’s chopped olive salad, and Tucker Juan’s outstanding Topsy Toffee.
The Market Place takes pride in bringing unique products and tasty treats to Fernandina Beach, and we hope you will join us this, or any Saturday, from 9:00 to 1:00 p.m. on North Seventh Street. The farmers market is normally open rain or shine every Saturday of the year, but we will not be open May 6, 2017, due to the Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival.
