You will find an amazing variety of clean eating options like Ferra Bakery who bakes fresh breads and pastries without using preservatives. They have cinnamon buns, with or without powdered sugar, a lunchbox sandwiches are wonderful when using slices of freshly baked sourdough bread. Perhaps a spanakopita loaded with spinach and feta cheese, or a pastry stuffed with pepperoni, cabbage, or eggplant is more enticing? A delicious after-school snack would include cannoli, chocolate chip cookies, or a slice of cinnamon raisin bread, and their garlic sticks are an amazing addition to any dinner. Another popular vendor that can be found this week in Fernandina is the King of all Guacamole. They offer pineapple, mango, and tomato salsa, ceviche, and of course, shockingly delicious guacamole. We will also have coffee, cookies, salad dressings, the free Edibles, the magazine, of course.

The newest item to be found in the farmers market would be the saw palmetto berries by the Carter Family Homestead. Once a popular medicine used by native American populations, the berries are believed to have health benefits for the prostate, the urinary tract, and hair loss. This family farm also grows mushrooms, fresh garlic, and a variety of herbs that he mixes up for teas. A Patient Journey Farm has duck, duck confit, chicken, and eggs; and Upstream Seafood will have salmon filet, smoked salmon, salmon dip, and scallops.
Other delicious items include dip mixes, seasoned salts, marinara, and rubs. You will find a vegan bakery, freeze-dried candies, Polish pierogis, and dog treats by Bark-N-Bake, macaroons by Breakable Hearts, and Lizzie’s Cheese Straws is joining us again this Saturday. There will be elderberry syrup, infused vinegar, boiled peanuts, pecans, and popcorn, too.
