Since September we have truly enjoyed making new friends and catching up with a few old acquaintances since the Lee family replaced the farmers’ market in historic, downtown Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island, Florida.
The outpouring of support from our neighbors, throughout Nassau County and beyond, has warmed our hearts and confirmed the popular opinion that the farmers’ market belongs downtown!
Thank you for your support and it has been an honor to nurture the Market Place as it continues to grow. We love to hear from you, so please continue to send us your ideas and suggestions for our featured non-profit organization of the week, our local talent, themes and special events, and especially your comments about how we can make YOUR market an even better place to spend your Saturday mornings in Northeast Florida.
From our market to your homes, here is a familiar tune, we just changed up the words a little bit to (hopefully) make you smile.
Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones this holiday season!
“Dew drops on cactus and plates full of cookies,
Jars full of jellies, beef jerky from Wooky’s,
Chocolate dipped pretzels tied up with strings,
These are a few of our favorite things.
Cream colored coffee and crisp apple streudels,
My Personal Chef brings chicken with noodles,
Farmers bring eggplant, strawberries and beans,
These are a few of our favorite things.
Chefs selling local’s their popular dishes,
Reusable bags full of this week’s wishes,
Rose brings her eggrolls with sauce, but no springs,
These are a few of our favorite things.
Our dogs don’t bite,
Our bees don’t sting,
Our vendors don’t feel sad,
They simply sell all your favorite things,
And then we all feel so glad!”
