The weatherman is calling for cooler temperatures and less rain this Saturday and the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market is a great place to enjoy a beautiful summer day outdoors. Open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., there will be over 40 tents set up with amazing seasonal produce, fresh cut flowers, delicious breads, natural honeys, hand crafted pasta, homemade jams and jellies, and so much more.
Returning favorites include Vietnamese egg rolls handcrafted from an old family recipe and sold by Rose at her An Unbelievable Egg Roll booth. Galbreath Farms is also a monthly vendor returning this week with sweet Italian and sweet Thai basil plants.
Campcraft Cocktails is a new vendor joining the farmers market each week with quart jars of dried fruits, vegetables, and other beverage spices. Simply add your favorite spirit and let them sit for three to 30 days, add your favorite basic mixer and enjoy about eight servings of a wonderfully satisfying adult beverage. Flavors include aromatic citrus, hibicus ginger lemon, and bloody Mary.
The farmers market has new vendors in the pipeline including gourmet popcorn in a variety of unusual flavors, and one of Fernandina’s favorite chefs, Chef Michael. Look for both to be joining us soon.
The Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market is located on North Seventh Street, between Centre and Alachua Streets in historic, downtown. Look for Larry Lemeir on the guitar for entertainment, our Booth with a Cause is Bible Baptist Church, and this week’s featured brick and mortar is Royal Amelia Dance Academy.
