Summer is the season of swimming, boating, picnics, and s’mores around the campfire, and you’ll find plenty of summer’s traditional flavors at the farmers market in historic, downtown Fernandina Beach.
Several returning vendors are joining the farmers market on July 22nd including Mrs. Cook, The Muffin Lady, and her fresh-from-the-oven chocolate, apple cinnamon, and blueberry muffins. Sunshine Grindz is back in the Market Place this week with their popular Hawaiian poke after a much-needed vacation, and Devon is returning with her lovely, scented soy candles.
Seasonal produce at the farmers market includes early corn, beans, peas, some late onions, tomatoes, summer squash, and lots of different peppers. Cabbage Creek Farm is now growing watermelons, eggplant and spaghetti squash, too.
This is also the 2nd Saturday of the month and so the Fernandina Beach Arts Market will be open adjacent to the farmers market. About 20 artists and craftsmen will be displaying their variety of art including furniture, wood working, apparel, jewelry, handbags, quilts, pottery, and more.
Join us for the arts, the crafts, the food, or simply to try the new s’more flavors including handmade ice cream sandwiches, and s’more flavored toffee.
Both markets are open rain or shine, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and your well-behaved, leashed pets are welcome.
For more information, you can find both markets on facebook.
