Weather Expected to be Warmer at Farmers Market

Saturday mornings have gotten off to a brutal cold start in 2018, but January 13th is shaping up to be a true Florida winter day. A day perfect for putting light jackets on the kids, and a great opportunity to take your dogs on a long walk through the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market and the Fernandina Beach Arts Market. Both markets will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., rain or shine.

Expect to see some of your favorite vendors returning to the farmers market now that the winter has returned to normal. Bark-N-Bake will return with their fabulous dog treats, and Upstream Seafood will be back with their salmon, scallops, and smoked salmon dip. Golden Olive Press is back this week with their hand-selected olive oils from Spain, and Jay’s Marketplace returns with their chopped olive salad and olive juice that is perfect for making a dirty martini.

Our plant vendors will be back after freezing temperatures put much of their inventory at risk, so lets show Ina and the Dutchman with Seven Trees, Lydia with Succulent Designs of Vilano Beach, and Robert with Everblooming Gardens a hearty Fernandina Beach welcome back!

The Arts Market is back to their non-holiday hours; they are open on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. Here you’ll find several booths full of hand-crafted jewelry, apparel, woodworking, art, pottery, soaps, and more.

The Holistic Wellness Center is back to show you the broad array of alternative healthcare services they offer: Chiropractic, Massage, Reflexology, Detox Foot Baths, Infared sauna, Aqua Gym (water exercise classes in an indoor, heated, saltwater pool). Personal Training and group fitness classes, a full line of effective nutritional supplements, natural made products, essential oils, laboratory blood and/or saliva testing, nutritional consultations, detox guidance and more. Located at 1610 South 8th St (beside the First Baptist Church), they are a one stop shop for all your alternative health care needs.

Market sponsors include All American Gutter. They offer residential and commercial installation and repairs of seamless gutters, screen enclosures, and more. Bath Fitter is a Market Place sponsor this week and they professionally install a beautiful new bathtub and wall right over your old one. Enjoy your remodel with no messy, disruptive demolition work, and, all of their products are backed by a limited lifetime warranty.

We hope you will join us this Saturday in downtown Fernandina Beach. The farmers market is located on North Seventh Street, between Alachua and Centre Streets, and the Arts Market is located right next door in the Pineland Bank’s back parking lot.
