The Fernandina Beach Market Place is full of super foods for your Super Bowl parties. Whether you are hosting the party or attending one, you will impress with any of these great ideas:

For your starting line-up check out the sweet, savory, or spicy dip mixes from Simply Savory Gourmet. Lulu’s at the Thompson House makes an amazing spicy or plain pimento cheese spread, and catering company Bottega by Liz has a variety of appetizers and dips. Delicious cheese blintz appetizers can be made with a loaf of bread from Rudy’s company, Ferra’s Bakery (formerly Maria’s Bakery), and mixing cream cheese with the chopped olive spread from Jay’s Market Place. Here is a savory, and easy, recipe you can prepare ahead of time, just refrigerate them until ready to bake. Select any flavor loaf of bread. Use one package of cream cheese and mix with two or three tablespoons of the chopped olive salad from Jay’s Marketplace. Roll each slice of bread flat with a rolling pin and cut off the crusts (optional). Spread the mixture onto the bread and roll into pinwheels. Cut into thirds. Thirty minutes before serving, dredge them through melted butter to coat and bake on a greased baking sheet, or shallow baking pan at 350 degrees for 30 minutes until golden brown, turning once.

All great super-sized salads begin by tossing together butter head, kale, fresh spinach and arugula. Serving your radish, carrots, onions, tomatoes, cucumber, green and red peppers, and jalapenos in individual bowls invites everyone at the party to create their own healthy salad.

For a quick game time dish try Joy of Garlic’s Quick and Easy Chili recipe: Mix together one jar of their spicy salsa with roasted corn and black beans, one pound of JD Beef’s ground Angus Beef (browned and drained), 1 tablespoon chili powder, 1 tablespoon paprika, and 1/2 tablespoon cumin. Last minute guests? No problem, just add a package of Amelia Pasta’s flavorful orzo, rotini, or penne.

There are so many options when preparing something to eat when gathering with family and friends, and the farmers market is a welcoming place to come for inspiration and great recipes.
