The Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market and the Fernandina Beach Arts Market will both be open Saturday, rain or shine. Just in time for Mother’s Day, bring Mom to North Seventh Street where sunflowers come to the farmers market while bringing a unique, open air shopping experience and festive market atmosphere. Meet the farmers, bakers, ranchers, and producers who grow, bake, nurture and create assorted food items including ethnic and specialty foods. Fresh blueberries are in season and we are welcoming our newest vendor, Morning Belle Farms, an organic farm located in Woodbine, Georgia, to the farmers market. We also celebrate with African Love Kitchen. This is a weekly vendor who won the Best Ethnic Food award at a Taste of St. Augustine in April. Try one of their winning dishes like Mango Chicken, Vegetable Curry, and their popular Sambusa. Me, Myself, and Pies, returns to Fernandina this week, as does Baby Cakes Bakery, fresh squeezed lemonade, and bright sunflowers from Bacons Select Produce.

Adjacent to the farmers market is the Arts Market, where nearly 30 carefully curated makers sell a wide array of hand-made goods including fine and whimsical jewelry, apparel, home goods, photography, glassware, paintings, wood working and more.

This week’s music is provided by Chris Loomis and members of the Fernandina Pirates Club will be on hand to answer your questions about this nearly 50 year old, all volunteer, not for profit organization.
