June 25, 2016, is the 4th Saturday of the month and that means both the Fernandina Beach Arts Market and the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers markets will be open near the corner of Centre and Eighth Streets in historic, downtown Fernandina Beach.
The farmers market is welcoming one of our newest vendors back this week, African Love Kitchen. You will be delighted with their authentic Tanzanian foods created by Chef Ibrahim. Ibrahim uses the flavors of his culture to entice your appetite, and you can taste the culture in every bite. Try sambusa filled with beef, chicken, vegetables or bison, and their piri piri wraps are fabulous. If you are a fan of curry, their sauce is a must have.
Cabbage Creek, a farm located in Nassau County, has been a weekly vendor of the market for years and this time of the year their butternut and spaghetti squash, cucumbers, fresh garlic, and mixed and sunflower cut flowers are all beautifully displayed in their popular booth.
Summer means heat, and what better way to cool off when walking through the farmers and arts markets than with a nice cool lemonade, smoothie, or an iced coffee by weekly vendor Island Juice and Java? Prepared to order, these refreshing drinks are made just the way you want them.
Kings Kountry Produce is another weekly vendor that brings seasonal vegetables to Fernandina Beach from their family farm in Starke, Florida. Harvesting this time of the year includes ample supplies of eggplants, tomatoes, Patty pan, zucchini and golden rod squash, corn, okra, and Florida blueberries.
In addition to these fine food vendors, there will be another 30 or so vendors with displays of breads, pastries, soaps, lotions, honey, jams, jellies, eggs, beef, salmon, local shrimp, cheeses, dips, dressings, hot sauces, and more, as well as almost 20 artists and craftsmen set up with their handmade creations including jewelry, pottery, apparel, art, frames, and pictures in the adjacent Arts Market.
Our Market Sponsor this week is Bath Fitters. A representative will be available to answer your questions about remodeling your bathroom in as little as one day. Affordable and quick, their professional service offers you a wide variety of finishes and accessories, and the peace of mind knowing the job is being done right!
Both markets are open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and the farmers market is open every Saturday of the year.
