No foolin’ Fernandina has a lot to offer this April Fools Day. There are community events on North Seventh Street, North Sixth Street and North Fourth Street. So grab the family and head downtown!

The Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market, located outdoors on North Seventh Street, is known for its variety of fresh baked breads and pastries, seasonal produce, micro-greens, honey, and wild-caught shrimp. With something for everyone, this market is not only a place to buy what is needed, but it is an experience. This is an amazing way for local vendors, farmers, ranchers, growers and producers to provide high-quality products to put on your family’s table. You’ll find natural bath and body products, elderberry syrup, honey, and fire cider. You will see plenty of succulents, flowering baskets, vegetable plants, patio plants, orchids, and landscaping plants. Enjoying a stroll through our Victorian village and historic district is a refreshing break from the work week for families to spend some time together. Visit our unique shops and boutiques, grab breakfast or lunch at one of our fabulous restaurants, and meander through the vendors under the Spanish moss draped oaks of North Seventh Street.

Here are the other two great events: On North Sixth Street you will find the Community Easter Celebration. Hosted by Memorial United Methodist Church and First Presbyterian Church, this free event is open to the whole community and includes food, bounce houses, Easter Egg Hunts, pictures with the Easter Bunny and more! And if that is not enough downtown fun, check out North Fourth Street for the Spring Festival sponsored by the Friends of the Fernandina Beach Library. This free, family event features music, crafts, touch-a-truck, an instrument petting zoo and other activities.

The Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market will have Fern and Dina bringing the live music, and Amelia Island Community Bible Study Group will be sharing the date and times of their men, women, or couples bible study sessions.

The Market Place is open Saturday, April 1st, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., rain or shine… no foolin’! To learn more, be sure to like or follow us on Facebook.
