December 22, 2018, is the last Saturday before Christmas that you will be able to shop the Fernandina Beach Arts Market and the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market. Do you need last minute gift ideas or special items for your family’s Christmas dinner table? Then, head into historic, downtown Fernandina Beach and visit the friendliest farmers market in Florida!
The Arts Market, located in the Pineland Bank parking lot at the corner of Centre and Eighth Streets, will have 30 tents of woodworking, jewelry, painting, apparel, metal works, custom glass, and more. Soul of the Earth has a nice variety of copper jewelry. Said to have healing powers when worn, the slow absorbtion of copper into the body claims to help decrease the painful effects of arthritis, headaches, and joint pain. Wooden Water will be at the market Saturday with their hand carved, wooden bowls. Both functional and beautiful, these bowls are true works of art. The also carry hand made candle holders and ornaments made from oyster shells. Another great gift idea can be found in the Comfort Board Creations booth. If you have a sport fan on your Christmas list you’ll find signs for just about any team made from repurposed wood. They also have hand painted messages of inspiration, faith, and love of family.
North Seventh Street, adjacent to the Arts Market, is home to the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market. Lizzie’s Cheese Straws is back this week with special gift and party sized packaging. They also have a new, red velvet flavor. Jonathan is back with Sunshine Grindz. It has been a few months since he has been in the market offering shrimp and avacado, wasabi ahi, and soy sesami ahi poke flavors. He is now also bringing fresh Asian tuna dip in both plain and spicy. Tea Nation will be back in the Market Place on Saturday with ready to give grab-n-go boxed gifts, and whimsical kits for teachers, travelers, cold survivers, office workers, men, moms, and more.
In addition to our seasonal produce and fresh baked goods, you’ll find our weekly, unique vendors, as well as returning favorites like Rose’s Eggrolls, Hairy Farmpit Girl’s soaps, Oizeo’s Asian Tapas, and Chauntel’s Coffee. Music will be provided by Alain Lalait.
