J.D. BEEF is all natural Angus beef. Free of hormones, antibiotics, steroids and vaccinations their cattle run free in a low-stress environment.
By owning their own bulls, they have maintained a closed herd for 10 years. Calves are raised from birth with one thing in mind “Top Quality Beef”.
The herd is pasture grazed in the summer on Bermuda grass. In the winter, rye and rye-grass as well as hay are always available to keep the herd on a healthy diet. A good source of minerals is always available to their animals. Most are finished on a special mixture of grains with plenty of fresh water which originates on the farm; others are grass finished.
All of their beef comes from cattle less than two years of age. According to the USDA, less than 30 months is ideal. This provides a better quality beef with a fresh taste, consistent marbling, and a fabulous texture. Being less than two years of age eliminates the chance of certain diseases in the cattle as well.
J.D. Beef meets the USDA’s Never Ever 3 guidelines:
- 1) Never been fed or given Antibiotics.
2) Never been fed or given Growth Proponents.
3) Never been fed or given Animal By-Products.
