The Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers’ market will be action packed on Saturday, October 18th with the 18th Annual 8-Flag’s Car Show, produced by Amelia Cruizers, lining Centre Street in historic, downtown Fernandina Beach.
Returning to the farmers’ market this Saturday is Andy from White Hawk Farms. White Hawk is a family owned and operated business that raises, breeds and sells ADGA quality registered Nubians (domestic goats), as well as several different breeds of poultry and rabbits. They also produce items such as goat milk soaps, candles, cheeses, and canned goods from produce on their homestead, and they sell quality animal products (for animal consumption only per FL and GA state law).
I’d like to bring your attention to Tressa’s Treasures. Tressa has been with us since the Market Place opened selling her homemade soaps, body salts and scrubs, but we knew it wouldn’t take long for this Chef to tempt us with her culinary talents and now she has opened a booth full of tasty tidbits. Her gourmet concoctions include irresistible goodies like Honey Roasted Pecans, Spicy Cajun Walnuts, pretzel rods first dipped in milk chocolate, then drizzled with white chocolate or caramel, and rolled in M&M’s and other chopped candies, and my favorite, Heavenly Peanut Butter: a soft and savory square of peanut butter under a layer of chocolate with a crumb topping that is… well, Heavenly.
A brand new item to the Market Place is The Spice Pantry’s pies. Percilyn has been selling her flavored sea salts, and now she has added a second booth full of delicious home-made pies, just in time for the holidays! Since this will be her first market with the pies, I can only imagine the savory and delicious flavors she will be offering… be sure to stop by and smell the delicious variety!
The Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers’ market is located on North Seventh Street, between Centre and Alachua Streets, on Amelia Island. Open year round, rain or shine, our farmers market consists of nearly 40 producers and growers. We are open from 9:00 to 1:00 PM, and your well behaved, leashed pets are welcome, too.
Music this week is provided by the lovely Melissa Rangel, and the Friends of the Library will be joining us to give us an update on how the Fernandina Library expansion is shaping up!
