February 28th at Fernandina's Farmers' MarketFernandina Beach Market Place farmers market will be open on North Seventh Street in historic, Fernandina Beach from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on February 28, 2015 with over 40 exhibitors! Olives, pickles, pies, salts, candies, seasonal produce, fresh breads and pastries, local honey, beef jerky, gluten-free products, sauces, smoothies, coffee, tea and more is all available on Saturday morning under the cedar and oak trees of Amelia Island.

You will find delicious crab cakes from Lulu’s at the Thompson House, salmon patties, filets and scallops from All About U.S. Salmon, and tasty pink shrimp from Chesser Seafood.

Rose returns this week with her homemade Vietnamese egg rolls, and Seven Trees Nursery has beautiful blooming geraniums in pink, red and lavender.

butter-head-heartierBacon’s Select Produce is growing a heartier, red tipped butter head variety of lettuce, and Kings bell peppers are abundant in green, red and yellow.

Marge Powell, an herbalist for over 20 years, will be joining the Market Place this week with a variety of herbs and heirloom tomatoes in tow. Feel free to ask her about herbal medicines, soap making, cooking with herbs, and of course how to grow them. Marge has conducted hands-on workshops on a variety of herbal topics across the United States.

Entertainment this week will be provided by Bruce Beville and the Laid Back Band. Stop by the Relay for Life booth to learn more about the upcoming event, and cancer survivors are invited to sign up for the FREE breakfast being served on March 21st, sponsored by Sandy Bottoms.
