Celebrating Two Years in Historic Fernandina

Celebrating two years in FernandinaIt has been two years since the Fernandina Beach Market Place opened on N. 7th Street in historic, downtown Fernandina Beach, and we are having a Community Party on September 13th to celebrate.

Join us for some fresh air, tasty treats, great music and lots of fun. This festive market is shaping up to be our biggest one yet!

Your favorite vendors like Boatrights, Kings, Bacons and Cabbage Creek will be on hand with their fresh produce and flowers. Rose will have egg rolls, White Hawk returns with goat milk and exotic eggs, Olive My Pickle has hummus and olives, and who doesn’t love a “pickle on a stick”? Melanie, with Lulu’s, returns with crab cakes and pimento cheese. You’ll find sweet sauces and spicy jams, and dips and rubs made right here on the First Coast. There will be soaps, lotions and body oils for you, and organic treats for man’s best friend. Have you tried any of the Alaskan salmon, scallops, steaks, roasts, sausage or ground beef? You’ll be able to smell the fresh baked breads, pitas, croissants, tea cakes and rolls. You can sample and taste test your way up one side of the street and back down the other!

Be sure to welcome our newest vendor, Dee-ceptive Delights, as they join us this week with a variety of wholesome sweet breads like Banana, Pumpkin, Zucchini, Blueberry, Lemon, Apple and Cranberry Orange. They will also have energy bars in several different flavors made with different types of nuts, dried fruits, nut butters, seeds, natural sweeteners, whole grains, heart healthy oils and occasional chocolate.

Friends of the Library will be set up selling tickets to three great events, and providing information on their book sales, membership, auction items, and contributions. They will also be bringing a sample of the chairs that can be purchased for the new library in honor of someone special.

Bruce Beville is heading up our Community Jam Session, so bring your instrument or your voice, and clap along as we celebrate two years of what a farmers’ market should be… a place for farmers and producers to meet face to face with members of our community. A friendly location to make new friends, visit with family, enjoy fellowship with your neighbors and have some good old fashioned fun!

There is something for everyone at the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers located on N. 7th Street, between Centre and Alachua Streets, on Amelia Island, Florida.
