Alain Le Lait Coming to Fernandina's Farmers Market
Musician Alain Le Lait
We have a brand new entertainer providing music this week, Alain Le Lait. Alain’s musical career started when he picked up a guitar, and he does an acoustic version of The Beatles’, “I Am The Walrus” that will leave you eggless. This ‘fine’ musician recently moved to Fernandina Beach from Colorado with his wife and dogs, but he (they) wishes that he’d have done it sooner, “because it’s such a cool place,” said Le Lait. A fan of the farmers market, we are happy to become a “fan” of his, so come on out and show Alain a warm, Fernandina Beach welcome.

Open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., rain or shine, the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market will host nearly 40 vendors May 21, 2016 who will be exhibiting seasonal produce, fresh baked breads, artisan pastries, honey, egg rolls, dressings and dips, salsa and chips, jams and jellies, pickles and chow chow, hand made soaps, goat soaps and lotions, wild caught shrimp, hormone free beef, pasta, rice, kombucha, plants, succulents, and palm trees, catering specialties dishes, cheese, milk, eggs and more.

Steve Joseph, the “J” in JD Beef, returns this week with grass fed, grass finished beef. It takes about 24 months to produce the optimum in texture and taste, and his cows are raised without antibiotics, hormones, or steroids. You truly can taste the difference.

Eddie and Debbie Chesser are bringing fresh, wild caught, local shrimp. Eddie has been shrimping for 47 years. Based in Mayport, his boat, “The Brat”, goes out one day at a time providing us with fresh shrimp that is never flash frozen.

Jaxma Orchids returns this week, and they are thrilled to answer your questions about the care of orchids. Did you know that once all of the blooms fall off, you can cut your orchid stem back to above the lowest notch, about three inches from the base? This will produce a stronger stem, or spike, which creates a larger bloom.

Our non-profit booth this week is AAA. This member based organization was established in 1902, and is the industry leader for roadside assistance to the motoring public.
